Broome’s tropical climate is defined by hot days and balmy nights. When most of Australia is freezing, it’s still warm enough to wear thongs (flip-flops) in Broome. Just pay attention to that Broome has two distinct seasons — the dry and wet.

May – October (dry season)

Dry season, running from May to October, is Broome’s high season. When visiting Broome in the dry, you enjoy sunny days with temperatures ranging between 17 – 31°C (63 – 88°F). Locals say the nights are a tad cool, while most out-of-towners agree the weather is lovely.

November – April (wet season)

Broome’s wet season, lasting from November to April, is the hottest period of the year. With temperatures spanning from 25 – 34°C (77 – 93°F) and high levels of humidity, every day is sweltering. So when those heavy afternoon downpours of rain arrive, maybe you’ll actually thank the weather gods for it.

However, have in mind that floodings occur at this time of the year, resulting in road closures and a more limited range of activities.
